Privacy Policy

Devournal is a small devblog, not a data business. This note explains the little I collect, why, and how to make it go away.

What I collect

When you send the membership or contact form, I receive the details you type: your name, email address, the plan you picked, and any message. That's the whole set. I don't ask for card numbers or payment details through the form — those are handled separately once we've agreed on a plan.

If you allow analytics cookies, I also see anonymous, aggregated counts of which posts get read. That's page-level, not person-level: it tells me "the profiling article is popular", never "this reader viewed that page".

Why I collect it

Your form details exist so I can reply, set up your Devournal Pro access, and send an invoice or payment link. The reading counts exist so I write more of what people actually read. There's no third use — no profiling, no advertising, no resale.

Who sees it

I do. The form writes to a private file and, when I import it, a spreadsheet only I can open. Payment providers see whatever is needed to process a payment you initiate, under their own terms. Beyond that, your details are not shared, sold, or handed to advertisers.

How long it's kept

Active members' contact details are kept while the membership runs and for a short accounting period after, so invoices reconcile. Contact-only enquiries are cleared once the conversation is done. Ask me to delete your data sooner and I will, unless I'm legally required to retain an invoice record.

Your rights

Under Lithuanian and EU data-protection law you can ask what I hold about you, correct it, or have it erased, and you can withdraw consent for analytics at any time by clearing cookies. One email does all of it: [email protected]. I aim to respond within a few working days.
